Prior to your elective surgery, your doctor will arrange for you to visit Stawell Regional Health’s Pre-Admission Clinic.
This appointment is important to enable the hospital to collect vital, up-to-date information about your health prior to surgery, and provide you with details about your procedure, hospital stay, discharge and post-operative care.
The pre-admission clinic also provides you and your family with an opportunity to ask questions, which can be beneficial to help you feel more comfortable on the day of surgery and assist with recovery.
In most cases, your pre-admission appointment will be followed by a discussion with your anesthetist.
