Macpherson Smith Residential Aged Care, an extension of Stawell Regional Health, is currently home to 35 permanent residents.
The accommodation is a modern, comfortable and safe living environment for those who can no longer live independently and require 24-hour nursing care.
Our warm and caring staff develop excellent relationships with residents and their families and believes quality of care to achieve quality of life is paramount. This is underpinned by a commitment to ensure that residents maintain their dignity and privacy, and that rights and beliefs are respected at all times.
At the accommodation, residents are encouraged to maintain their independence and continue their involvement in community and social activities, including those offered at the neighbouring Bennett Centre. So the establishment meets the evolving needs of our residents, a Residents’ Forum meets regularly for dynamic discussions.
The accommodation itself features private and shared rooms, dining room, residents’ lounge and several other cosy sitting areas throughout the building and its lovely gardens. The building is situated across the road from the town’s beautiful Cato Lake and is a short walk to the CBD.
And, being just metres from Stawell Hospital, the accommodation has easy access to a wide range of allied health services, which can be carried out by medical professionals on site.

Bennett Centre
The Bennett Centre provides social and recreational activities for frail older people and those with a disability living in the Stawell area, and provides their carers with some respite. Activities include craft, group meals, entertainment, music, excursions and gentle exercise classes. The Bennett Centre is situated next to Macpherson Smith Residential Aged Care, Sloane Street, Stawell and operates from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
