Our Day Procedure Unit gives patients from the local community access to the best day surgery facilities and treatment right here in Stawell, reducing the need for them to travel and enabling patients to return home as quickly as possible.
Day surgery procedures carried out include ENT (ear, nose, throat) Orthopaedic (bone), Urologic (bladder) Gynaecologic (women’s), Ophthalmic (eyes) and Gastro enteric (stomach and bowel).
Our friendly and helpful staff assists and guides our patients through their day surgery experience, starting with a thorough admission process; and providing information on what to expect on the day of surgery, and what their recovery is expected to be like.
Upon discharge, we arrange a follow up appointment with the relevant surgeon and, in most cases, provide a prescription for analgesic (pain relief) medications. Patients are contacted by a nurse within 24-hours of discharge to answer any questions they may have about their recovery and to ensure they are effectively managing their pain relief.
